Berry's new deal extends remarkable journey with Luton

Luton Town have announced that Amari'i Bell has signed a new contract with the club.

The 29-year-old centre-back's deal was set to expire at the end of the week, but Bell will now remain at Luton for their first season in the Premier League.

He is the second player to sign a new deal in recent days, after Luke Berry agreed to extended terms.

"It was just a matter of time, but I’m so happy to get it done and now all I can think about is coming back and getting ready for the season ahead," Bell said on the club's website.

"It’s definitely an opportunity that I’m going to grasp with both hands and make it count.

"We can all have a huge sense of pride that we’ve achieved something like this [promotion to the Premier League] in our career."

Bell joined Luton in the summer of 2021 from Blackburn Rovers.

Initially joining as a left-back, he developed into a left-sided centre-back and has played 97 times for the club in all competitions.

He is set to feature in the top flight for the first time after nearly 400 matches.

"If he wasn’t already, Amari'i quickly became one of our most important players after we came in," Luton manager Rob Edwards added.

"From our first game, when he got sent off against Middlesbrough, to how he performed in the playoff final, in that second half of the season he was outstanding."
