Light Up the League and GMM Announcements

light up the leagueOne of my favorite events for Prospective Members is just around the corner – the annual Light Up the League social before the December GMM! Join us Tuesday, December 15th at 6:00 pm as we’ll gather at
Husch Blackwell LLP on the 10th Floor. They are located at 4801 Main Street in Kansas City, Missouri (the same building as the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library). I’m planning to attend and bring a friend who is interested in joining the Junior League. The view of the Plaza lights can’t be beat! For more information about events for Prospective members, please check out our website.

If you are planning on attending the General Membership Meeting that same night, please consider bringing along some much needed items for Lazarus Ministries. The sojourners are in need of many items to make the winter not as long and dreary. We are so thankful to partner with Lazarus Ministries as they work to meet the needs of the urban core (more here).

You can help by picking up these items while you are out: white athletic socks, toothbrushes, Band-Aids, razors, tampons and underwear in sizes large and x-large.

Also be sure to check around your house! Lazarus Ministries will also be accepting plastic grocery bags, suitcases on wheels, backpacks, purses and winter coats in adult sizes large and up. Items are needed for both men and women.

Hope to see you on December 15th for the Prospective member event. Don’t forget to bring your items for the GMM as well!
