Holiday Mart Marketing – A Behind-the-Scenes Look
The women on the Marketing Committee for Holiday Mart 2015 are a powerhouse team with a vision for sharing all the awesomeness of the Mart with the Kansas City community. I heard them discussing their plans and begged for a behind-the-scenes look at their work for Holiday Mart this year. I got the story AND some free tickets for you. Read on to find out how you could win the tickets!
Caitlin Fore serves as the Holiday Mart Marketing Step-Up Co-Chair (as well as the Retail Co-Chair for this year!). She also works in the KC area as a stylist. She suggested the Kate Spade inspired ad idea in a marketing meeting and everyone agreed the idea would be perfect for our 2015 ads. She then worked with Neal Troester to create the images in his studio. Caitlin then asked her League girlfriends to lend their hands (literally) for this shoot. Abagail Pumphrey, Holiday Mart Marketing Co-Chair, and Caitlin worked together to pull together the perfect props. Because she also serves as Retail Co-Chair, Caitlin could select pieces submitted by our very own Holiday Mart retailers for the styled photos.
The day of the shoot, everyone reported with their nails painted red. Caitlin even painted one of the model’s nails – you can add manicurist to her resume now! With all the props laid out, the group got started placing and staging the models for the first shot of the day. Those poor gals arms were super sore by the end of the shoot. But the final shots look amazing!
They ended with a bird’s-eye view shot of Carrie-Lynn Rodenberg, Holiday Mart Marketing Step-Up Co-Chair (and now model). Caitlin placed the rug and styled the props along with the look Carrie-Lynn wore for the shoot. Abagail, another design force in KC, was a great creative director and was in charge of making sure she got the exact shot she wanted for the ads. It was a team effort as the women also had help from Liz Karre, Melanie Manning and Sarah Ruhlman. The sneak peeks make me so excited to see more Holiday Mart marketing in the coming months.
