The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri: women building better communities.
The holidays have settled in around us. Last week the newspaper was filled with ads for Black Friday and my email overflowed with promotional deals for Cyber Monday. But there’s a growing movement around the country to spend today giving back. You may have seen the hashtag #GivingTuesday, and I love the spirit of generosity to mark the beginning of the holidays as well.
The Individual Giving Committee reminded me about the importance of remembering the Junior League as part of your charitable donations this year. Over the last 100 years, the Junior League has worked alone and with partner agencies to build a stronger Kansas City. In addition to our major fundraisers, Holiday Mart and Take Five, we rely on individual gifts to fund our organization and projects. The Junior League is a non-profit organization in Kansas City, and a gift to the League is a gift to the community.
When I look back through the blog, I see countless examples of how the Junior League has made significant contributions to our community. Feel free to share this post online with the hashtag #GivingTuesday and spread the love for non-profit organizations. You can donate online to the Junior League, anytime through jlkc.org. No amount is too small!
