The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri: women building better communities.

Emotional Eating Training Workshop

A very valuable part of being a member of the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri is taking part in the wide range of training opportunities available. Each year, over a dozen training activities provide a fun way for members to learn more together. The trainings work towards the League’s mission of developing the potential of women. This year, trainings including behind-the-scenes looks at some of Kansas City’s landmark features and educational sessions with Kansas City style and food leaders. I am having an impossible time deciding which training to sign up for myself!

One particular training that caught my eye is a session with Shannon Hodge, JLKCMO member. Her training, “Five Steps to Overcoming Emotional Eating,” offers useful tips for members as they get ready for the holiday season. She’ll talk about cravings, how to increase satisfaction while eating, and how to move past feeling guilt or shame around eating. Sometimes women can be extremely hard on themselves! Shannon’s experience as a health coach combined with her enthusiasm for helping other women makes this a training that will surely impact our members. I expect that her training on Wednesday, November 15th is sure to make a difference in the lead-up to Thanksgiving and holiday parties. JLKCMO members – be sure to sign up on the webpage under events. Read more about Shannon on her website here.

If you have an idea for a future training to develop the potential of our members, leave a comment with an idea. We would love to hear about other topics that could meet the needs of Kansas City women!
