Holiday Mart – It’s Finally Here!
Some of us have been counting down the days until the beginning of Holiday Mart since last October. Not only is Holiday Mart fantastic shopping, it’s great shopping for a great cause. Since 1988, Holiday Mart has raised nearly $9 million dollars to support the Junior League’s community partners. I wrote last week about some of the vendors I can’t wait to shop, but here are some other Holiday Mart tips you should know before you shop this week!
Let’s start with the #hashtags! #HolidayMartKC for all photos and status updates. Be sure to also get a photo with all your goodies and tag it #HMHaul. And if you have an absolute favorite vendor or new item that you buy, use the hashtag #HMFavoriteThings to showcase the best stuff you find at Holiday Mart. If you use the #HMHaul hashtag, you can be entered to win Take 5 Tickets. Look for the big white tree in the middle of Holiday Mart and take a #HMselfie for a chance to win $800 of goodies from current and previous retailers. You can use hashtags on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, so get ready to link up with other Holiday Mart shoppers!
Finally, remember that Holiday Mart is made even better when you attend with friends. Grab your sister or your mom (my two shopping partners!) or bring someone that has never attended. I am always impressed that this huge event is organized, coordinated and produced by volunteers and has such an impact on our community. I bet your friends will be wowed by the event and find everything they need for their holiday shopping.
