The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri: women building better communities.

Behind the League Pulse.

Veronica Petree, Stephanie Sheldon, Samara Nash and Lori Konomos attend the house blessing ceremony for the Schumacher family. The committee helped contribute more than 2,000 volunteer hours toward the house.

The League Pulse started in spring of 2013 to help tell the stories of the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri. We believe that effectively trained volunteers make our community a better place, and The League Pulse helps share the stories behind the JLKCMO commitment to Kansas City. We have a fabulous publication, the Inside Scoop, which arrives in our mailbox four times a year, a fantastic Facebook presence, plus Twitter and Instagram. The League Pulse compliments eBlasts and social media by allowing us to tell stories every week to connect with our members, the Kansas City community and potential Junior League members. Because blog posts are a little bit longer than the average Facebook post, we can give more details and celebrate voluntarism in KC. During 2014-2015, I am happy and honored to be writing these stories. My mother is a Sustainer and my sister is a New Member, and we’re proud to be involved with the Junior League in Kansas City.

We are always looking for ideas and features for the League Pulse. Guest contributor and suggested post ideas should be sent to Victoria Luhrs (me!) at blog @ jlkc.org. We’re currently looking for features from our Community Action and Community Impact partners, and other Kansas City bloggers who are JLKCMO members! Please leave us a comment with KC bloggers so that we can get connected to help tell our stories here on the League Pulse.
