Buying Holiday Mart Tickets
There’s a special ticket rate available for current JLKCMO members to order extra tickets to Holiday Mart. Available at only $5 each, they can be purchased online through your member home page at JLKC.org. I spoke with Julie Schlabach, Holiday Mart tickets chair, about tickets to one of the best fall events in Kansas City, and she gave me a couple of helpful ticket tips.
1. Tickets that you purchase for friends and family can be left at will call under your name.
2. Tickets can be given away and donated. In the past, many members have given their extras to good causes like Treat Our Troops.
3. New this year: Sustainers can purchase tickets for $5 too!
So I got to thinking about who I wanted to join me at Holiday Mart this year. I placed a big order for tickets earlier this month and included some of these special individuals when I ordered…
• My mom! She’s a Sustainer in the League, and for years she bought my ticket for Holiday Mart shopping. It was nice to return the favor this year.
• The secretary in my front office at work. I purchased two for her so that she could check out the shopping experience with a friend. She does so much for me, the $10 for two tickets seemed like a great gift for her! She has never been to Holiday Mart before so I’m excited she’ll have this opportunity too!
• A couple of members of my book club. Our regular gathering is a highlight of the month, but we like to have some fun social plans too.
Remember to buy an extra $5 tickets before September 30! We need all 1400 members to help support the League’s largest fundraiser.
