The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri: women building better communities.
Meet Patsy Amick, Board Assistant.
The Board Assistant position is a constantly evolving placement! The main goals are to help the President and President-Elect with whatever they need, be available to the other Board members to answer any questions/provide any help, take minutes at the Board meetings and General Membership meetings.
Patsy is the Director of Administrative Systems & Management Services Metropolitan Community College. She and husband, Brian, have been married for 13 years and have one naughty Labrador retriever named Pinkerton.
Patsy has been a member of the League for 11 years and started off in Holiday Mart on the Retail and then Dec Ops committees, then to Nominating, MAL for Membership Council, Resource Allocation Chair, moved to 100th Anniversary committee, Assistant Treasurer and Membership Development Special Committee, Director of Finance and Membership Development Special Committee.
Patsy originally joined the League to meet new people and have a way to volunteer in the community, since then she has learned so much through the League and realizes she is part of an organization filled with passionate women which she finds so inspiring!
Patsy’s hobbies include traveling, hiking, running, cooking, gardening, sewing, knitting…and she readily embraces learning new things!
Fun fact: “I once saw the Pope when I was backpacking through Europe – we attended Palm Sunday mass at St. Peter’s, I ran the Pikes Peak Ascent on the 50th anniversary – 13.32 miles up Pikes Peak! And I worked for the IRS as an intern for 3 years!”
