The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri: women building better communities.
Meet Lisa Kalell, 2013 co-chair of the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri’s Holiday Mart. Lisa has been a member of League since 2001 and has served on the Holiday Mart committee for five years. Born and raised in Iowa, Lisa moved to Kansas City in 1999 and joined the League to meet other woman who had a passion to volunteer and give back to the community. When Lisa isn’t working on Holiday Mart she enjoys teaching yoga and indoor group cycling classes and is also an active fundraiser (in memory of her father) for the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Lisa “Hearts the Mart” and was inspired to co-chair the event after seeing how 55 talented women and over 600 volunteers work together to execute a fabulous shopping fundraiser. In it’s 100th year the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri has given over $14 million dollars to the Kansas City community, provided 2.2 million hours of volunteer work and has worked with approximately 350 community partners. AMAZING!
